Cash Roll Fastest in Monticello Sire Stakes

Cash Roll’s young resume has been impressive, this afternoon at Monticello Raceway she extended her streak of perfection in her $26,500 Sire Stakes division. The 7-5 favorite started from post 6 with Scott Zeron aboard and cut the mile through splits of 29.2. 59.2 1:28.4, she paced her LQ in 27.4 to trip the timer in 1:56.3 ($4.30) in the fast mile of the afternoon for her second consecutive pari mutuel win. The Roll With Joe – Rockonomics lass is trained by Richard Ringler for owner Louis Palumbo of Eastchester NY, Racine Bell was second followed by Dragon Blue Tina.
Content to sit the pocket while pacesetter Galleria Gal (Tyler Buter) Hidden Cove was stalking until she made her move and come first over, at the ¾ pole to take the lead, she had 3 lengths on the pack and had to outbattle a fast closing Precious Alexis to win in 1:57.2. Hidden Cove (American Ideal – Sun N Sand) is trained by Erv Miller and was driving to victory by Marcus Miller, finishing third was Galleria Girl. Hidden Cove paid $2.70
In the 3rd division of Sire Stakes, the heavy 1/5 favorite Turnthefownaround left hard when the gate sprung but a make a break in the middle of the first turn and was gapped last. American Chance inherited the lead but not for long, quickly regaining his composure and gait Turnthefownaround got even with pack to get the lead parked out at the half in 1:00:2. The eventual winner So Rude sat in the 4 hole along the rail until the paddock turn and eventually tracked down Turnthefownaround to score in 1:57.3. So Rude, a daughter of So Surreal – I Am a Snob is trained by Scott Dimenico and was driven by Matt Kakeley.
Marcus Miller picked up his second win of the afternoon after driving Bolt Of Beauty ($2.70) to victory in her $26,500 contest, the Bolt The Duer – Natural Luck filly is owned by Erv Miller & Tanah Merah Farms, the filly threw a left front shoe during the mile but still paced home LQ in 28.2. Roll With Angel was second followed by Movie Town in the show spot.
In Excelsior A action the winners were Spreckles Corey Callahan) Art Major – Catharsis) in 1:59, American Dreamgirl, Jordan Stratton (American ideal – Good Stuff) The lone division of Excelsior B saw the Jake Huff trained American Arrow (American Ideal – Ladyjack) with Mike Simmons in the sulky win in 2:01.1.
