If Trainer Jim Doherty Jr. checked out his horoscope today it should have said that good things will come in 3’s.

This afternoon March 24, Doherty Jr. had a banner day as he won the first 3 races consecutively. The afternoon started with Spicey P in the first – race (1:58.3 $5.00) who nailed his second win of the season for Cory Stratton. Vaganova (Bruce Aldrich Jr) accounted for the second win after benefitting from a garden sport trip to take down Dateline Hanover by a nose in 1:59.1 – $4.40, for the 9-year-old son of Rock N Roll Heaven it was his first seasonal win. The rugged Woodmere Rondevous nailed the triple in 2:00.1 – $11.80 with regular driver Bruce Aldrich Jr. defeating RT Lange and the winningest horse on the grounds, SB Mikes Hot Beach.

With the 3 wins on the day Doherty is in 8^th place, tied with Danny Gill with 11 wins for the season, also on the card Bruce Aldrich Jr. had a driving triple while Cory Stratton had a double.

Greg Merton leads all drivers with 38 wins, Jim Taggart Jr. is second with 36 followed by McGwire Sower close behind with 34.  On the training side of the ledger Bo Sowers is extending his lead with 31 wins over Candace Brandstatter 21, Chris Petrelli is third with 17 winners.
