Taggart Brothers Were Hot

On a beautiful Catskill Mountain afternoon with the temperatures reaching into the high 70’s, brothers Jim Taggart Jr. and Shane accounted for 4 wins on the 8 race card.
Not wasting anytime getting on the board Jim Taggart Jr. proceeded to win the first 3 races on the card in succession. First aboard Grand Master who scored a wire to wire win in 2:01.1 for trainer Thomas Merton, the 14-year-old notched his first win of the season. The second half of the double saw the aptly named So Unexpected score in 2:00.4 from post 7, sent off at odds of 26-1 ($54.50) for trainer Peter Lutman Jr. Next up was Giddyallyougot who held off Twin B Shadow (Kyle Dibenedetto) in 1:59.3, he is trained by Dawn Devaux. The 3 horses that Taggart won with were all aged campaigners 14,12 and 14.
Also wanting some of the action was Shane Taggart who won with Tuukka who scored in a 7 length romp in 1:58.3, Shane also owns and trains the 9-year-old son of Tell All who earned his first season win along with his wife Amy Lynn.
Mcgwire Sowers had a driving double on the afternoon.
