4 in a row for Rocks Fantasy
April 19, 2022
Rocks Fantasy has been on a tear recently, in his last 14 starts he sports impressive numbers of 7 wins, 2 place finishes and finished 3rd twice. Starting from post position 8, Rocks Fantasy was eased out of the gate by McGwire Sowers as Rock On Lou set the pace (Cory Stratton) Rocks Fantasy took the outside air the entire mile. In typical Rocks Fantasy fashion, he was 3 deep and on the move and won by 2 lengths over pace setter Rock On Lou. Team Sowers has 2 winners on the card, the other winner was Hypnoticdream 1:59 – $19.00. The win (7) ties Rocks Fantasy with Dirtlittlelittlelies and SB Mikes Hot Beach with the most wins on the grounds.
Barnabas benefitted from a great steer by leading driver James Taggart Jr. in the Open Pace, Tiger Baron (Mike Merton) cut the mile through splits of 29.1, 58.3, Little Power (McGwire Sowers) was the first to move at half. At this point, the eventual race winner was in the garden spot, down the back side Little Power was on the move at the ¾ mile marker and was on top of the field by 3 lengths at the top of the lane but with every step his lead diminished and it looked like Tiger Baron would get the win but Jim Taggart did an excellent job in mid-stretch to shake clear to get up and prevail by a whisker in 1:57.1 over Tiger Baron and Little Power Barnabas is trained by Danny Gill, who in the process notched his 2nd win of the season.
Also on the card Shawn Simmons won with How Are Yee John in 1:59.2 – $24.60, it was the second win of the year for both Simmons and his mount.
