JB Mauney N scores in Open Pace

For JB Mauney with his start this afternoon at the Mighty M it was his fifth different track in the last six weeks. Today the trailer brought him to Monticello where he drew postposition 4 with Mike Merton in the bike for the $8,000 open Pace that drew a field of 7 pacers.
As the gate left, so did JB 4/5 favorite JB Mauney N (Mike Merton) and Art Magic (James Devaux) going into the first turn they were 3 abreast as Art Magic had to work hard to get the lead which he did at the first stanza in a brisk 26.3. Merton did the give and go and came right back to take the lead, at the half Meadowbrook Raider was the first to start the outer flow as the pack hit the half in 56.1. The positions on the front end remained unchanged, as JB Mauney N continued to show the way, still hung on the outside was Meadowbrook Raider (Mcgwire Sowers) as they hit the next panel in 1:24.1. JB Mauney N kept the 1 length advantage over Meadowbrook Raider at the top of the stretch and went on to win in 1:53.2 Meadowbrook Raider who was uncovered for than half of the mile went a big mile and finished second for Team Sowers, Trevor One (Brandon Parker) finished 3rd. JB Mauney N is trained by Rob Harmon and was greeted in the winner circle by a large crowd; the biggest smile in the winner circle was part owner Lisa Ann Devidowich.
Shane Taggart scored a driving double aboard Classic Spirit in 2:03.4, a 3-year-old daughter of Roll With Joe which is owned by Shane’s wife Amy Lynn Taggart and with Sneaky Sunrizer who broke her maiden in 1:59 score for trainer Marianna Monaco. Nui Ba Den N earned his 8th win of the year for Brandon Parker in the last race in 1:55.1.
