Andover Contessa easy winner in Open Trot

This weeks OpenTtrot was a short field of 6 going to the gate with a few of the familiar trotters missing, one new face in the crowd was Andover Contessa who was starting from Post 4.

Andover Contessa and Greg Merton made the front end in short order, going down the backside Jim Taggart Jr. aboard Bully Boy pulled the pocket before the opening panel and took the lead as he hit the opening panel of 28.2,  He was still cutting the mile hitting the next timer 58.0 and 1:27.1, in the middle of the paddock turn Merton pulled the right line and Andover Contesss and quickly had Bully Boy in his sighst.  Merton added a few soft taps to his mount for good measure and cruised home under no threat to turn back Bully Boy in 1:58 with Cinnamon Stick finising third.

Jake Huff is the trainer for Andover Contessa who registered her fourth win on the year for owner Rosalie Huff and Beauty Bridle Racing Stable.

Extending their win streaks were Springbridge Proud, who made it 3 in a row this afternoon for trainer Greg Decker in 1:57.2 with Bruce Aldrich in the bike. Luvcrunchess is responding well for new trainer Steve Ray, the  7 year old mare has now won back to back races, todays win was in 2:00.1.  Jim Taggrt Jr. had driving double on the 8 race card.
