Bank Guard gives Bruce Aldrich the Triple

In a deviation from his normal tactic, David Yarock driving the normally front end loving Mr Ridgetaker opted to sit in the pocket as Bank Guard cut the mile thru split sf 29.3 1:00.4. Bank Guard started to separate himself from the pack, he was up by 4 at the next panel in 1:30.1 and turning for home and at the wire he lead by 4 to trip the beam in 2:01.1 – $3.40, with Mr Ridgetaker finishing second followed by What A Pittstop (Dibennetto).  For Bank Guard (Aldrich Jr.) it was only his second win on the year for trainer Murray Bassen and was a seasonal mark for the Break The Bank K 8 year old gelding. Bruce would also score aboard Southwind Larado 2:00.1 – $13.20 for trainer Steve Ray and Emperor’s Vacation 2:03.4 – $3.30 trained by Laura Aldrich.

Ralph Silvestri III sat the pocket with Ravishing Ruby behind the tempo setting Lookintomyeyes, with a last quarter of 29 Silvestri was able to get by the leader for the win in 1:58.1 – $17.80.  It was win #4 on the year for the Dali filly who is owned by RS# Racing of Monticello, NY.
