Special Graduate Beats the Boys in the Open Pace

8 Horses went to Post in the afternoons open Pace, Seeuinnashville and Greg Merton were first away from the gate but not for long as Special Graduate sitting in the garden spot, took the lead before the opening panel in 27.2. Adam Moeykens aboard Special Graduate who started from the rail continued the set the tempo passing the next station in 56.3 with Seeuinnashville full of pace behind him. Majorly Sexy A was the first to come first over for Cory Stratton past the half followed by Thinkbig Dreambig (Devaux). At the 3/4 pole in 1:25.4 Thinkbig Dreambig went 3 deep, coming off the last turn it looked like the classy campaigner was going to get it all, but came up a tad short as Special Graduate hung on for the win in 1:54.2 – $4.60. Seeuinnashville finished second with Thinkbig Dream Big copping the show spot. For Special Graduate, it was her sixth win on the year, the lone mare in the Open is trained by Bloomingburg native Dave Dziengiel. Adam Moeykens is now in 12th position for leading Dash Winning Drivers with 22 wins; the 20-year-old Moeykens continues to improve his game and looks and acts like a seasoned veteran on the racetrack.
L Dees Passover made her pari mutual debt a winning one as the 3 year old daughter of Sweet Lou scored a 5 length win in 1:59.4 – $2.20, she was driven by Jim Taggart Jr. for trainer Nicholas Devita.
Jimmy Devuax took both half’s of the early Daily Double with Brenda’s Got it in 1:57.1 – $4.10 and with Bullville Hilda 1:57.2 – $ 30.60.
