This afternoon, brothers Greg and Thomas took both halves of the early double and brother and sister McGwire and Mckenzie Sowers each scored driving wins, with McGwire having a driving double.

The afternoons Open Pace started out like it looked on paper, Daamericansky and Justin Huckabone timed the gate almost perfectly, the pair took the lead from Chantepleure (J. Devaux) before the brisk opening stanza of 26.4.  Approaching the half JM’S delight (G. Merton) was first to start the outer flow followed by Hypnoticdream (Mac Sowers) passing the half in 55.3. By the time they hit the next panel in 1:24.3 Daamericansky was starting to shorten his stride as JM’ S Delight was hot on his heels, rounding the paddock turn with Hypnoticdream in hot pursuit. JM’ S Delight got the lead briefly halfway to the wire but Hypnoticdream unleased a final dash of 28.3 to seal the deal in 1:54 – $13:00. JM’ S Delight finished second followed by Trevor’s Ace (K. Dibenedetto) McGwire also scored aboard Dirtylittlelies in a 9-length romp ion 1:57.2 – $2.80.

Earlier in the card, McGwires sister Mckenzie took the EWEY amateur Club race with her own Premier Joy A in a wire-to-wire score in 1:59.1 – $6.40.

Shooting Brooke has now stringed together 5 in a row for trainer Johnny Desimone, this afternoon he scored in 1:55.3 – $4.80 with Jim Devaux to the helm. Mama Donna earned a new speed badge by virtue of her first lifetime win in 2:00. – $9.30. The Artiscape filly is trained and driven by Thomas Merton for owner Mary Ellen Abbot.
