Cinnamon Stick Turns Back ER Shane
October 11, 2023
Cinnamon Stick took full advantage of the absence Chip Chip Conway, the bettors made him the 1/5 favorite in this week’s Open Trot, scoring from post position 5 he was in no rush to get to the front end. After being strung out just a tad he made the top parked to the first panel in 28.2. Once on the lead he controlled the tempo and was on the lead at each station, ER Shane was the first to pull the right line approaching the 5/8 marker to take aim on the leader. In the stretch ER Shane was gaining on Cinnamon Stick, forcing driver Greg Merton to get after his mount, the urging was enough to hold off ER Shane (Bruce Aldrich Jr.) in 1:58 – $2.60 with ER Shane garnering the place position and Raceace (A. Schwartz) getting up for third. The win was his second in a row, 5th on the year for trainer Greg Decker. The 8 year old gelded son of Jailhouse Jessie is owned by Michael Mulligan of Liberty, NY.
2 Divisions of the NAADA series took place, Joe Lee and Jumpshot 2:01.4 – $9.90 took the first dash and Joe Faraldo taking the other driving By A Hof Hanover in an even 2:00 – $16.80.
