Winning Never Gets Old For KJ Hunter

The wins and purse money keeps racking up for KJ Hunter this season, this afternoon the Gary Messenger trained son of Huntsville notched his eleventh win on the year.
In the afternoons Open Pace, true to form the favorite Daamericansky (G. Merton) cut the mile with splits of 28.2, 57.2, Bruce Aldrich Jr. aboard Some Deal Hanover was the first to move at the half, down the backside KJ Hunter made his move as the front runner tripped the next beam in 1:25.4. Turning for home Daamericansky was still showing the way, but KJ Hunter used a 28.4 final ticker to seal the deal to win by a slim margin in 1:54.4 – $4.90, Daamerican Sky held on for second followed by Some Deal Hanover.
The tandem of Taggart and Messenger accounted for a double, the other win came aboard Major Rosita in 1:58.2 – $11.80.
Also having a double was Thomas Merton who scored with Lil T K Lo in 2:04.2 – $6.80 for trainer John Stubits and then with Brendas Got It. Adam Moeykens pulled a shocker with 40-1 bomb Special Graduate $84.50 – 1:56.1.
