KJ Michael Finds another gear to get Up For the win
November 22, 2023
There are a few things in life that are a given, death, taxes and Daamericansky will be leaving the gate and gunning for the top. The front end loving Daamericansky, staring from post 7, lived up to his reputation and was on top by the first turn. He reeled off fractions of27.4, 57.3, past the half Kilowatt Kid N (M. Merton) and KJ Michael (J. Taggart) were on the move. Down the backside these 2 continued to advance as they hit the next panel in 1:27.1. Some Deal Hanover went 3 wide around KJ Michael, going into the last turn, turning for home it looked like Daamericansky was a winner, that was until KJ Michael found another gear and powered home to overtake the leader in 1:56.2, with Some Deal Hanover finishing and Kilowatt Kid N got up for third.
For KJ Michael it was his fifth win of the waning season and pushed his seasonal earnings almost $50,000 for owner Scott Woogen the son of Rusty’s All In and is trained by Gary Messenger.
Greg Merton had the hot hand this afternoon with 3 trips to the winner circle aboard Charming Vixen 1:57.2 – $3.10, Rocknroll Charm 1:56 – $13.40 and Yankee OnThe Move.
Crunchville (Kyle Dibenedetto) scored for his 1st lifetime pari mutual win in 2:02. – $2.90 for trainer Frank Yanoti.
