Pleasure Seeker Wins Marred FM Open

The Filly and Mare $6,500 Open was marred by broken equipment, Pleasure Seeker and Jimmy Devaux were the fastest off the gate and made the front, Meadowbrook Jenny (G. Merton) the winners of last week’s FM Open was parked 3 wide going into the first turn trying to advance, as they straightened out down the back side a she suffered an equipment issue and it appeared to have hooked wheels with Thinking of a Card (A. Moeykens) causing confusion and scattering the fields and interfered with 4 horses.  With the confusion Pleasure Seeker was pretty much left to her own and would score a 2-length victory in 1:57.2 for her inaugural win of the year, turning back Jeannies Seeker (Sowers) and Abuelita Hanover (M. Merton).

Jumpshot (Jim Devaux) won the first race of 2024 for trainer McKenzie Sowers in 2:01.1. All three of the Merton Brother, Greg, Mike and Thomas all won a race this afternoon.

We The Female continued her winning ways and stretched out her win streak to 4 straight for Raheim Strong with a 1:58 score, Steve Ray got on the 2024 board early with a winning effort from Marvin B Swift (B. Aldrich Jr.) in 2:01, the gelding is owned by Jee P Van Dyke of New Berlin, NY.
