Magical Mistress Battles The Wind
March 11, 2024
This afternoon was a cold blustery afternoon with wind gusts up to 53 mph, it was not enough to deter Magical Mistress from earning her 3 consecutive win. The betting public installed the new face as the favorite from post 5. Special Graduate and Adam Moeykens from the rail cut the factions, Cory Stratton pulled Magical Mistress before the half and starting tracking down the leader. At the ¾ pole, Special Graduate had enough and began to tire as Magical Mistress and Perfect Queen were ranging into contention.
Turning for home Magical Mistress had the lead, with Thomas Merton driving Perfect Queen, the betting public got their money worth as Thomas Merton was strongly urging his mount for more, but to no avail as Magical Mistress tripped the beam in 1:58.4 – $4.10 with Cory Stratton in the bike for trainer Candace Brandstatter.
Bettor Lady extended her win skein to 4 in a row, a winner of 5 wins in her last 6 starts after her 3 length romp in 2:01.3, the 10 YO Bettors Delight mare is trained by leading trainer Danny Gill and was driven to victory by leading driver Greg Merton.
Greg Merton had a pair of winners with brothers Tom and Mike also garnering a trip to the winners circle.
