So Rock N Roll Wins Fifth Straight

So Rock N Roll extended his winning streak to 5 in a row after once again winning the Open Pace at Monticello for McGwire Sowers in 1:55.1, the Maine import is trained by Benson Merrill.

In this week’s Open Pace Chantepleure (J. Devaux) set the tempo with fractions of 28:1, 57.2, all the while So Rock N Roll (PP8) was near the back of the pack, as Chantepleure continued to show the way at the next panel in 1:26.1, So Rock N Roll was able to improve his position and was now third at this juncture.  Turning for home Chantepleure began to tire midway through the stretch, So Rock N Roll dove into the passing lane, Thisishowwedoit (T. Merton) mounted a formidable challenge on the outside but was turned back in a tight photo for the win in 1:55.1 – $32.00. It was So Rock N Rolls sixth seasonal win, the son of Maine’s hottest stallion Western Maverick is owned by Leighton Property of Waterboro Maine.

Italian Lad (T. Merton) finally found the winners circle as he notched his first win of the 2024 season after 8 unsuccessful tries, despite being parked for half the mile, he stormed home a winner in 1:56.4 – $7.00, he is owned by Bean Bag Brothers of Rock Hill, NY and is trained by Jose Godinez.

The speed demon Daamericansky (G. Merton) paced the fastest mile of the day with a 2-length score in 1:54 – $2.20 for trainer Andrew Adamczyk.
