This week with the absence of Promise for Life, the betting public installed KJ Kyra the favorite after being bride’s maid for 2 consecutive weeks to Promise For Life and Rosies’s War Bonds finishing third to him 3 times. When the gate left so did KJ Kyra (J. Taggart) who blasted away from the 7 holes with Rosie’s War Bonds and Kyle Dibenedetto tucked in the 2 hole. The position remained unchanged with fractions of 28.4, 59.1 & 1:28. Turning for home KJ Kyra had 2 lengths on the field, in a spirited stretch drive with 3 horses at the wire, in a tight phot Rosie’s War Bonds was declared the winner over Win And Dream (T. Merton) and pacesetter KJ Kyra held on for third, time for the mile tied her seasonal mark of 1:57.3 – $9.60, The winner is trained by Robin Dibenedetto, it was Rosie’s fourth win on the year for owner Howard Jacobs,
Ziggy Star scored for the 8th time this season with Mike Merton at the helm for trainer Ken Koch in 1:56.2 – $2.70. Sectionlineronnie has now has back-to-back wins for Rich Campolong and Ralph Silvestri III in 1:56.4 – $4.30, Jim Devaux and Jimmy Taggart Jr, each recorded driving double’s.
