Flow With Joe Wins Second Straight Open

This week’s Open Pace was a full field of 8, Chantepleure’s regular pilot Jim Devuax has been sidelined due to a recent hernia operation, he was replaced by Fern Paquet Jr. As the gate left so did Chantepleure and Flow with Joe who was straddled with post position 8. Chantepleure made the top and Flow With Joe (M. Sowers) was fortunate to find a tuck in the 3 hole. Chantepleure’s tenure on the front end was short lived as the favorite Bettor Roll On A (G. Merton) pulled from the 2 hole just before the opening stanza to get the lead in 28. This too was short lived as Flow With Joe was out in the paddock turn vying for the lead but was parked in 57.1. Still in no rush and first over, Flow With Joe sat on the outside of Bettor Roll On A, as they hit the 3rd Q in 1:25.4, Mac Sowers gave his mount a few wake up taps and he responded, pulling away from the pack by 6 lengths in a strong performance in 1:54.3 – $21.80 Bettor Roll On A finished second. Followed by Yankee on the Move (Dibenedetto) Flow with Joe has now reeled off 4 straight for trainer Art Green. The win was 1 of 3 winning drives for McGwire Sowers
Stonebridge Rocks made it 3 in a row with Rick Harp in the bike for trainer Monica Eriksen in 1:56.2, Daamericansky was in a new barn this week after being claimed by Jim Doherty Jr., last start out, today he extended his win streak to 5 straight with Bruce Aldrich Jr. in the bike narrowly holding off a fast-closing Exotic Sand (M. Merton) in 1:56.3
