Second Time is the Charm for Ginger Tree Finny

True to form, Daamericansky (M. Merton) blasted off the gate for the lead, the 5/2 favorite Flow With Joe (M. Sowers) who was straddled with post position 8 also left strongly and was able to find a spot along the rail fourth. Damericansky took them past the first stanza in 27.4, going into the paddock turn Flow With Joe came first up with Ginger Tree Finny (J. Taggart Jr.) right behind him as they hit the half in 57.  At the 5/8 marker Flow With Joe was still advancing, Ginger Tree Finny was forced to go wide and tipped and was 3 deep in 1:26.3 as Daamericansky began to falter and back through the field. Turning for home the race was on between Flow With Joe and Ginger Tree Finny, deep in the lane Shane Adam (F. Paquet Jr.) came into contention late to overtake Flow With Joe but Ginger Tree Finny was a clear 2 length winner in 1:55.3 $7.90 with Shane Adam finishing second followed by Flow With Joe. Ginger Tree Finny is trained by Douglas Berkely.

4 drivers dominated the day with each recording driving doubles on the card, Thomas Merton, Greg Merton, Bruce Aldrich Jr. and Jim Taggart Jr. – trainer Laura Aldrich also had a double on the 7 race card.
