Jimmy Devaux put on a driving clinic this afternoon by winning half of the card, he started off by winning the first race aboard Sammy B Happy in 1:56.1, next was Heez Ourperseus N 1:55.1. – Icarus Falls N in 1:56.1 and then a 6 length romp with Stonebridge Rocks in 1:55. 2 – $3.90. Second leading Trainer Monica Eriksen had a banner day with 3 winners from her barn, 3 of Jimmy Devaux winners were trained by Monica.

The afternoons featured race was the $8,800 Open Pace, Villiam (G. Merton) who started from post 7 left the gate and was able to secure a 2 hole pocket behind the pace setter Chantepleure before the opening panel of 27.2 and 57.3 Going down the backside second time around Chantepeure became rough gaited and Villiam vacated the 2 hole trip with the 9/5 favorite Gotta Go Milking A second over, they hit the ¾ in 1:26. At the top of the stretch Villiam was the leader, down the lane he able to withstand a late challenge by Gotta Go Milking A in 1:54.4 – $5.60. For Villiam it was the gelding’s fourth seasonal win for trainer Maggie Chindano, it was 1 of 2 winning drives for Greg Merton today.

Tip The Line (K. Dibenedetto) broke his maiden, the 3 year old gelding by Betting Line scored in 2:01.3 for trainer Jim Doherty Jr.
