CURTAIN SET TO FALL ON NY SIRE STAKES AT MONTICELLO RACEWAY WITH $106,300 UP FOR GRABS

Monticello, NY (August 16, 2024) – The curtain falls on the New York Sire Stakes season when two-year-old Trotting Fillies will close out the 2024 year, up for grabs is $106,300 for the seven freshman contestants.

My Debt Collector has been installed as the early morning line favorite; the $260,000 daughter of Chapter Seven will start from post position three. She has scored in a Sire Stakes win at Tioga Downs where she took her lifetime record of 1:57.4, Jim Taggart will drive for trainer Nifty Norman. Ake Svanstedt brings Beautiful Sight (PP4) to the fray with Tyler Buter at the helm, the filly made a miscue in her last effort, prior to that she scored a Tioga in 1:56.2 for owners SRF Stable of Lighthouse Point, NY.

Also featured on the card are two divisions of the $20,000 Excelsior Stakes carded as races three and four. Michelson’s Titan drew the seven hole, the daughter of EL Titan has two wins in the class for trainer Erv Miller and has banked an even $25,000 in her four starts, Tyler Buter will handle the driver chores. Purple Haze Stables has entered Flashchap, a winner last week at Vernon where she took her lifetime record of 1:59, she will start from post four for trainer-driver Trond Smedshammer. In the second heat Going To Vegas from the rail is the favorite, still winless the Paul Kelly trained daughter of Chapter Seven is a Goshen Yearling Sale alumni, Tyler Buter will drive.
