In a short amount of time Dan Rawlings has made a name for himself at Monticello Raceway, the Lewiston Maine native is no stranger to the winner circle. The seasoned driver made a name for himself at The Meadows with strong numbers.  His presence is a welcome one which helps fill a void in the driver’s colony. Yesterday he had a driving double, today his scored aboard the Tammy Sowers trained Pink Delight in 1:59.3 – $3.80.

Transparency

Today’s card was highlighted by 2 Open Pace Events, the first dash saw Transparency lead from start to finish in a 3 length win in 1:56.1 – $6.60 over Sectionlineronnie. He was driven to the victory by Bruce Aldrich Jr. for trainer Dave Dziengiel.

The second division saw the Lisa Martin trained Feelin Western nab his fourth seasonal win over Perfect Queen (T. Merton) in 1:55.3- $4.50 after taking the lead past the opening panel for the fastest mile of the day. Feeling Western is owned by Joseph Rotella of Liverpool, NY.

Uncle Ted recorded his first pari mutual win for trainer Paul Roy, the 3 year old son of Huntsville was driven by Greg Merton and earned a new speed badge of 1:59.4 – $2.70.

Brothers Greg & Mike Merton each recorded driving doubles, Mike Merton is atop of the leaderboard with 194 wins and Greg is in second place with 180 trips to the winner circle.
