The afternoons featured race was the Open Pace for Aged Pacing Mares, the 7 horse contest raced for a pure of $7,100.  The betting public installed Vel Straight Out the 1/5 favorite despite post position 7. Perfect Queen was just to the inside of her, Dan Rawlings hustled Vel Straight Out off the gate vying for the lead, he bypassed an open slot along the rail in the 3 hole and continued to the front. Abuelita Hanover (M. Merton) was in the garden spot enjoying the view as As Vel Straight Out was still showing the way.  She was never really threatened and went on to score in 1:59.2 – $2.50 with Dan Rawlings in the bike for trainer Tammy Sowers. The duo of Rawlings and Tammy Sowers accounted for 2 winners on the day, the other being Pembroke Traveler in 2:03 – $3.90.

My Little Bee scored for Owner- Trainer – Driver & Groom Hillary Hartnett in a come from behind victory in 2:05.1 – $11.80 for her first seasonal win.

Jim Taggart Jr. scored a driving double, as did Adam Moeykens, who took the first and last race of the day.
