Already with a 9-race advantage over his closest competitor, Michael Merton swept the first half of the 8-race card by winning the first four races in consecutive fashion aboard Rusty Beach $6.90, Believe In Angles $6.70, GDS Thunder GB$2.90 and Sullivan $16.40.

The afternoon’s featured race was the $7,100 Open Pace for Horses and Geldings with a full field of 8, the betting public made Air Guitar the 5-2 post time favorite.  There was a lot of early action with 3 leads changes before the opening panel of 28.4 with Hurrikane Jonnyboy (B, Aldrich Jr.) finally clearing approaching the half in 1:01 and took the pack to the next station in 1:31.4  Silk Road Smash was 2 deep in the paddock turn and was looking strong but ranging on the outside was Saranac Blue Chip with Adam Moeykens in the bike, these 2 were pretty much stride for stride down the lane but Saranac Blue Chip got up for the win in 2:02 – $8.20. for Saranac Blue Chip it was his fourth consecutive win for trainer Dan Morrissey 3rd.

Mullligan Philly (Greg Merton) extended her winning streak to 3 straight by virtue of her win in 2:05.1 $2.40 for trainer Marianna Monaco

Bruce and Laura Aldrich teamed up with a double as did trainer Ken Koch.

Qualifying races have been cancelled for Tomorrow (2-5) due to thawing track conditions, a decision will be made on Wednesday about conducting them on Thursday if the weather allows it.
