After losing nearly of month of racing, this afternoon Monticello Raceway got back on track with live racing resuming. A somber moment of silence was observed for Hunter Myers in the winner circle prior to the first race that was attended by fellow Monticello trainers & drivers.

Leading Driver Mike Merton and Monica Eriksen teamed up, taking both half’s of the early Daily Double with LMC Mass Gem in 2:02.2 – $3.60 and then followed by Believe In Angles in 2:00- $4.00. Eriksen would go on to nab her third win on the day with Icarus Falls N (G. Merton) 2:00.1 – $6.60, with the training triple Eriksen is now tied for second place with Tammy Sowers with 18 wins.

Female trainers won 5 of the cards 7 races with Laura Aldrich and Hannah Miller each getting a wins in addition to Monica’s triple on the day.
