Doo Wop Kid Turns Back Promise for Life

In the afternoons featured race the Open Trot, Doo Wop Kid and Promise for Life both went off at 6/5, Mac Sowers was the bike for Doo Wop Kid subbing for regular driver Alan Schwartz.  Promise for Life started from post 6 and went directly to the top with Doo Wop Kid settling in the 2 hole. Promise for Life tripped the timer at every split with fractions of 29.3, 59.4, and 1:29.3.

In the paddock turn Doo Wop Kid tipped out and had Promise For Life in his sights and collared the leader in the stretch and went on the get the win in 1:59.1 $ $4.50 for his third seasonal win. The six year old son of Wishing Stone picked up his 4rd win on the year for owner trainer Alan Schwartz

A newcomer to Monticello Raceway, Colin Kelly made his Monticello debt a successful one with a win and a second. Mike Merton and Ken Koch teamed up for a double, taking the first and last race of the 7 race card, Art Green also had a training double.
