Leading driver Mike Merton owned the card, taking races 5, 6, 7 & 9, one of the wins was in the Open Trot. The afternoons featured race was the $8,500 Open Trot with a full field of 8, Communion Money (C. Kelly) made a miscue as the gate was leaving entering the first turn, the normally sure footed Promise For Life made a break and took himself out of contention. Doo Wop Kid started from post position 4 hustled to the front where he would remain through the mile, stopping the timer in 1:58 – $3.70 prevailing by a head over Ackles Hanover (G. Merton) and the fast closing Emma Town Bud (P. Bovay) Doo Wop Kid was driven to Michael Merton for trainer Alan Schwartz.

Victoria Stratton scored in a wire to wire win aboard Draco S from the rail in 1:59.7 – $2.70 for his second seasonal win. 7. Bruce Aldrich ended the day with a driving double. Home’N Dry nabbed his 5^th on the year for Bruce and Laura Aldrich and was reclaimed by Ralph Silvestri. Ken Koch enjoyed a training double. Vinovio extended his winning streak to 4 straight this afternoon with regular driver Mike Merton for trainer Ken Koch in 1:58.2 – $3.00. The win was his best seasonal time in over 2 years.
