The cards featured race was the $9,300 Open Trot, Homer Hall (C. Kelly) cut the mile, The Last Chapter got on the move at the halfway point and was 3 deep at the ¾ marker in 1:27.3. The aged son of Chapter Seven bulled his way to the win in 1:57.4 – $21.00, it was one of two winning drives on the day for Greg Merton. The Last Chapter is trained by Eddie Hart. Ackles Hanover (B. Aldrich Jr.) finished second followed by Geralds A Keeper (M. Merton)
Modern Rock (Kyle Dibenedetto) came from off the pace in the lane to snatch a win from the favorite Luckisontheway in 1:55-$21.60, equaling his seasonal record. In the process he notched his eleventh win on the year for trainer Jim Doherty Jr.
Since he started racing at Monticello, Private Legend (G. Merton) has not been beaten and now has a 6 race win streak after his 1:56.2 – $3.10 score for trainer Greg Decker. Bruce Aldrich Jr. also had a driving double.
