SHES A STREAKER STREAKS TO A NEW TRACK RECORD AT MONTICELLO RACEWAY

August 5, 2025

Monticello, NY (August 5, 2025) – Yet another track record was established at Monticello during the Sire Stakes season yesterday afternoon. Shes A Streaker erased the old mark of Romantic Moment of 1:52.3 set in 2012 with a half-length win over the 1-9 favorite The Last Martini in the final strides in 1:52.2.

The eight-horse field contest was worth $121,800. The 14-1 Fansville (C. Kelly) set torrid fractions with the opening panel in 26.2 and the half in 55.2. At this juncture, the 1-9 favorite The Last Martini started her first over trip followed by Shes a Streaker. Passing the next station in 1:23.1 The Last Martini had collared the pace setter Fansville in the paddock turn to grab the lead. She looked like a clear winner, but Shes a Streaker (M. Kakaely) exploded in the final strides to snatch the win away from the Last Martini with Mrs Cheese (M. Kakaley) getting up for third. For Shes a Streaker (Huntsville – Mikala Rose) this was her third Sire Stakes win of the year for trainer Ron Burke.

Excelsior action saw Beantown Deuce (Huntsville – Don’t Think Twice A) driven by Matt Kakaley enjoy a three-hole journey throughout the mile and ducked in the passing lane to get the win by a half-length over Martini Star (J. Barlett) in 1:54.4 – $3.70. Tying her lifetime record and setting a seasonal mark for trainer George Ducharme and owner Michael Goldberg Racing LLC.

The second heat, Time To Strike (American Ideal – Striking Terror) thwarted Fashions Terror quest for four in a row, scoring easily in 1:54 with Matt Kakely in the bike for trainer Travis Alexander. It was Kakaley’s second Sire Stake win on the card.

Dan Rawlings had a driving triple. Bruce Aldrich Jr. had a driving double on the overnight portion of the card that also saw Laura Aldrich bag a training double.

New York Sire Stakes action returns on Monday, August 25. The last leg of Sire Stakes will be Two-Year-Old Pacing Fillies to close out the Stakes season with a 12:10 p.m. Post Time.
