The weather may have cooled down a tad recently but it didn’t effect Greg Merton, who was red hot, driving 5 winners on the 9 race card.

Adam Moeykens and Greg Merton owned the first part of the card, between them they won the first 5 races. Greg won 3 and Moeykens had a duce. Greg continued the hot streak and would win races 7 & 8.

The featured race of the day saw Elite Machine (1:53.3- $3.90) wire the field, defeating Kourageous Key (T. Merton) and Rock On Lou (K. Dibenedetto) in 1:53.3, his fastest mark of the season and his third seasonal win for trainer Peter Pellegrino.

Also having the hot hand was trainer Peter Pellegrino who had a training triple, in addition to taking the Open Pace, he also scored with Waimac Attack N (1:56.2 – $20.20) from the 8 hole and with Full Speed Steve in 1:55.4 – $9.90 for owner Jay Appelblatt.
