Pete Pellegrino reaches Career Milestone

This afternoon Airy Shadow & Greg Merton gave trainer Peter Pellegrini his 1000th training win in 1:57.2 – $3.10. Pellegrino first recorded training win was in 1994, his best year 2012, when he won 191 races and purses of $955,117. He has amassed total lifetime earnings of $6,610,347 in his long career.

Another driver recorded a first, Cody Houghtaling notched his first driving win, the 35 year old Provisional driver scored with Oakwood Vegas IR in 1:58.2-$7.22, and the aged gelding is owned and trained by Cher Beaudin, it was the first seasonal win for the 7 year old gelding.

Greg Merton and Bruce Aldrich Jr. had driving doubles.
