The first 6 races of the card were brought to you by the Merton Brothers, as Michael and Greg between them took the cards first 6 races. Mike had 4 winners and Greg had 2 pair. Mike came back and took the finale and ended the day with 5 trips to the winners circle.
The 9 race card had a pair of $8,300 Open Pace events, the first event saw Feelin Western from the 2 hole enjoy a garden trip behind the favorite Rock A Honey who did all the heavy lifting, only to get nailed at the wire by Feelin Western in 1:55.2 with Mike Merton at the helm for trainer Lisa Martin.
In the second Open event was Sauvignon Blue Chip and Adam Moeykens defeating Better Be Gouda (G. Merton) in 1:55.1 – $15.42 for trainer Dave Dziengiel.
Leading dash winning driver, Michael Merton took both half’s of the early Daily Double aboard Ivy Hanover (1:57.3 – $ 25.34) and Fear Her Touch (1:57.1 – $5.86)
Hurrikane Country (Greg Merton) scored in his Pari mutual debut in a wire to wire performance in 2:02.1 – $2.78, the 2 year old son of Bettors Delights is trained by John Mc Dermott. Trainer Ken Hopper got his first training win of the 2025 season with Bapa’s Ole Fashion (S. Taggart) in 2:00.4 – $4.52, it was also the first lifetime win for the son of Fort Knox, Tammy Sowers had a training double.
