Mother Nature finally woke up in a good mood today as temperatures offered much relive, hovering at 50 degrees.

The warm afternoon was greeted by a 9 race card with the featured event being the $8,200 Open Trot with a field of 7. In My Dreams (M. Merton) staring from post position 4 was first off the gate to make the top. Going to the quarter pole Emma own Bud made a break as In My Dreams continued to set the tempo via splits of 29.2, 1:01 and 1:30.3 with Doo Wop Kid sitting in the garden spot. Turning for home there no clear winner was evident with 3 horses in the hunt. In the last few yards DC Anna and Bruce Aldrich were charging on the far outside to get the win in a tight photo over Doo Wop Did (A. Schwartz) in an even 2:00 – $6.64, Aldrich also trains and is a part owner of the winner.

In the other division of the Open Trot, it saw making Magic Tonite (Bryan Quevedo) get lucky and get the win over Woodside Genius in 1:59.1 – $4.34 for her second seasonal win for trainer Jenna Cornelison.

Spectacular Leo (Bruce Aldrich Jr.) lived up to his name, making his first pari mutual performance a winning one, the 1/9 favorite son of Huntsville scored in a wire to wire 2:01.1 – $2.26, he is trained by part owner Gary Messenger, Ken Weckstein also part of the 3 year old.

Tammy Sowers had a pair of winners on the card, and Brother Mike and Greg Merton each had driving deuces on the card
