Primacy Station Streaks to Track Record

The lone division of the $108,300 New York Sire Stakes for freshman Pacing Colts saw Primacy Station establish a new track record for 2 year Old Colts.

Primacy Station was first away from the gate, Rose Run Cowboy pulled from the 3 hole at the opening panel in 28.1, he was still on top at the next station in 57. Maries Jet started his first over trek a the 5/8 marker with Rose Run Cowboy still setting the tempo 1:25.2 Matt Kakaley had his hands full with Primacy Station keeping him in the 2 hole in the paddock turn. Turning for home Rose Run Cowboy was still in command, Primacy Station ignored the passing lane and went to the outside and was easily able to get past the leader in mid-stretch to get the 2 length win in a new track record of 1:55.1 -$8.06, LQ 28.3. Rose Run Cowboy (Y. Gingras) was second followed by the favorite Maries Jet (J. Bartlett) Primacy Station is the son of American Ideal – Preeminance and is trained by Travis Alexander for owners Alexander Racing Stable LLC, CMT Farms, EVM Racing LLC and James Scarpias . The Excelsior action saw Bacchus Blue Chip – Yannick Gingras (American Ideal – Sunnyseventyfive) score in 1:55.1 – $6.14 for his first lifetime win for trainer Ron Burke. Babylon Blue Chip- Jason Bartlett (Huntsville – Onassis Bluechip) inherited the win when the pace setter Bills Mafia made a break approaching the wire for trainer Hunter Oaks, Oaks would also win with Blast Bluechip – Jason Bartlett (Shadow Play – Shaka Blue Chip) in 1:56 -$2.80. The final Excelsior event went to Takes Courage –Matt Kakaley (American Courage – Norinoro Hanover) in 1:58 -$6.92.
