Monticello Raceway 2024 Horse of the Year Air Guitar outpaced 6 other rivals this afternoon December 17 in the second of 2 Open Pace events.  He received very little support from the betting public and was let go at odds of 24-1, Villiam and Joe Chindano made their return to the Mighty M last week after racing at Batavia Downs. Villiam cut the mile while Air Guitar enjoyed a 2-hole journey, turning for home Bruce Aldrich tipped the Art Major gelding to the outside to overtake Villiam to score in 1:57.2 – $49.80, the pacesetter Villiam finished second followed by Vel Straight Out (D. Rawlings)

The lightly raced Hurrikane Jonnyboy (D Ralwings) has now put together a 2-race win streak after his score in Open company in 1:58.3, the heavy 1/9 favorite went wire to wire, turning back Sauvignon Blue Chip (A. Moeykens) and Trevor’s Ave (S. Taggart), He is owned by longtime stable patron of Robert Lounsbury, William J Damberg of Accord, NY.

Dan Rawlings would also score aboard the Tammy Sowers trained All You Can Eat in 2:00.1 – $6.90, Greg Merton had 1 winner on the card, he trails his brother Mike by 5 wins for top honors.
