This afternoon it was all Greg Merton & Jim Devaux, Merton won the first 3 races and Devaux took 3 of the last 5 races on the card, with the warmer temperatures there were some fast miles this afternoon.
Carrera Hanover (J. Devaux) let Ackles Hanover do all the heavy lifting, driver Jim Devaux came first over past half and took the overland route to the 3-length win over Reel Em In (Kyle DiBenedetto) in 1:57.2 -$3.20 in the $9,300 Open Trot. The winner is trained by Robert Lounsbury for owner Magaret Olmstead.
Saylor (M. Merton) literally ran off the screen with a 10-length romp in 1:56.3 – $6.40 for his second consecutive win, the son of Chapter Seven is trained by Gary Messenger.
Modern Rock and Kyle Dibenedetto put in a gritty performance this afternoon, taking down the heavy favorite Sullivan in 1:55 -$19.80 for his 10th seasonal victory for trainer Jim Doherty Jr. – Modern Rock is ranked 4th in the Nation for the most wins thus far in the 2025 season.
In this morning Qualifiers, Overalls a 2-year-old by Devious Man trained by Cory Stratton and driven by Jordan Stratton, was impressive in his debt Qualifier, finishing second, timed in 2:00.2, LQ of 29.4, good luck to his connections in the upcoming NYSS season.
